Four years ago, son Christopher began to film conversations with his father. Horst Buchholz died suddenly in March 2003. Christopher Buchholz continued to follow the traces of his father, turning to his mother, Myriam Buchholz Bru, and his sister Beatrice to unravel more of the story. The result was a game of cat-and-mouse between a father slowly giving up on life and a son who refuses to accept that.

This is the story of a hold-up. The preparations, the rehearsals, the many set-backs (mainly due to their lack of criminal disposition) enable them to get to know each other much better and to build strong relationships between themselves. At the same time, each woman is brought to face her own private hang-ups. But if the preparatory stage has been really a lot of fun, the actual hold-up is a serious matter and will take them for the ride of their lives.
